چکیده

Abstract Background The medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) is always damaged after patellar dislocation. In selected patients, MPFL reconstruction necessary to restore a correct tracking. Despite the large number of different techniques reported reconstruct MPFL, there no consensus concerning optimal procedure, and debates still ongoing. present study analysed results isolated in patients with instability. Furthermore, subgroup analysis presenting pathoanatomical risk factors was made. Methods November 2020, main electronic databases were accessed. All articles reporting primary for recurrent instability considered inclusion. Only minimum 12-month follow-up eligible. Results Data from total 1777 knees collected. mean age involved 22.8 ± 3.4 years. 40.7 25.8 months. Overall, range motion (+ 27.74; P < 0.0001) all other scores interests improved at last follow-up: Kujala 12.76; = 0.0003), Lysholm 15.69; 0.0001), Tegner score 2.86; 0.006). Thirty 1765 (1.7%) experienced re-dislocations, while 56 1778 (3.2%) persisting joint Twenty-five 1786 (1.4%) underwent revision surgeries. Conclusion Isolated provides reliable surgical outcomes. Reconstruction of the medial patellofemoral ligament for recurrent patellar instability.

Background. The purpose of this study was to compare outcomes of medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) repair or reconstruction. Methods. Fourteen knees that underwent MPFL repair and nine (F5, M4) knees that underwent reconstruction at our institution were evaluated for objective and subjective outcomes. The mean age at operation was 20.1 years for repair and 19.8 years for reconstruction. All...

Medial Patellofemoral Ligament Repair Versus Reconstruction for Recurrent Patellar Instability

BACKGROUND Patellar instability remains a challenging problem for both the patient and surgeon. Medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) repair has historically had poor results, and due to this, there is currently a trend toward reconstruction. PURPOSE/HYPOTHESIS This study was undertaken to investigate experience with repair versus reconstruction of the MPFL using a multifactorial treatment al...

Medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction for recurrent patellar instability.

The purpose of this study was to determine the value of reconstruction of the medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) in the treatment of recurrent patellar dislocation and subluxation. We retrospectively reviewed 40 randomised patients with recurrent patellar dislocation or subluxation, who had undergone realignment surgery from July 1999 to December 2001. Group E consisted of 20 patients who ha...

Medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction.

The medial patellofemoral ligament has been recognized as the structure primarily responsible for preventing patellar subluxation or dislocation.1-3 Anatomic dissection studies identified the medial patellofemoral ligament as a band of tissue connecting the femoral medial epicondyle to the proximal part of the medial edge of the patella (Figure 1).1-6 Imaging studies7-11 and surgical exploratio...
